FINAL ASSESSMENT
October 29th - 30th
October 29th
In-Class: Learners will have many options today. They can either work to find mathematical data to back up their argumentative papers on whether Columbus is a hero or a villain. I will have resources available in print and online to allow them access to such data. If they need help finding data I will be available and learners can work in groups. If students do not want to find additional data, they can complete interactive mini-quizzes, created by Mr. Otten, that are related to specific math targets. These mini-quizzes will allow students to review the targets they feel are the most difficult.
October 30th
In-Class: To end our Pythagorean Theorem and geometry unit, as well as Columbus's debate, we will have a final assessment that addresses all the learning targets for this unit. The test will be in the form of selective response and a few short answer triangle map problems. It will conclude with a rating scale with Columbus being a hero on one end and a villain on the other. Each student must write where he thinks Columbus is on this scale.
